Paulo Cabral was born in Brazil, the country where his passion for surfing arose, riding his first waves at the age of 12 on the beaches of Florianópolis and right there, during his adolescence, is where he began to venture into the world of surfboard manufacturing, working as a helper in a local factory.

In the year 1983 he created his own company "Marbella Surfboards" and years later he decided to travel to California U.S.A. to improve his shapping skills, learning about marketing and distribution, at that time there was a boom in designing short boards. 

In California, Paulo created a solid reputation as a board builder and built a large amount of loyal customers, riders and friends, that still remain until this day.

Currently, Marbella Surfboards has a local headquarters in Chile, the country where Paulo lives and where he still forges his art of shaping surfboards by hand, along with distributors in Brazil and California U.S.A.
